Halltech
Story
Halltech has now completed the F1 Twin Turbo, after a year of research and
development.
Engineering this incredible system has been no small feat. Jim Hall began
work on this system in
April of 2002. There have been setbacks, but the system is now ready, and
four have been
delivered, with a fifth being built for January delivery. Your deposit of
$10,000 will put this unit on
your C5.
The first prototype made too much boost (12 PSI) that it cracked the cast
pistons by fracturing
thesecond and third ring lands. Jim started on re-engineering the entire
twin turbo system late
2002 and has now delivered two twin turbo systems, with a third in
production. The entirely new
design fits completely under the stock C5 hood, and positions the turbos
in an easily serviceable
"Over the Top" layout, just the way professional turbo systems were
intended. Jim recommends
a "Built" bottom end for all of his twin turbo systems that run over 7 PSI
boost. Lower
compression heads, forged pistons, and good programming are a must for 8
to 23 PSI
applications. This package can be adjusted from 3 PSI to 23 PSI on the fly
through optional
onboard boost controllers. 1 year warranty on all components.
Delivery: 1 system per month, since each header system is hand fabricated
in Formula 1/Indy
certified purge TIG welding standards, and takes 4 weeks to complete each
system. This limits
sales to 1 every 4 weeks maximum at this time. The cost is competitive
with other forced
induction systems when you consider the quality, detail, and list of extra
components found in
the Halltech Twin Turbo PaK, not found in the other twin turbo kits. This
kit is without equal.
If you want the best there is, and don't mind the price tag, this is the
system for you. Our next
system is available February 24th, 2004.
